Pennsylvania poconos

Everything about the Poconos Mountains.

Jack Frost Ski Resort in Pennsylvania

The Jack Frost Ski Resort is located in the mountains of Northeast Pennsylvania. Another name for it is Jack Frost Big Boulder. The Big Boulder Ski Resort started before the Jack Frost, but both are considered to be one, now. The scenic Poconos mountains are ideal for skiing, snowboarding, snow tubing and terrain parks. This is a year-round resort offering hiking, boating, fishing and relaxing when the snow isn’t falling. There are also classes for skiing, snowboarding and tubing.

Jack Frost offers festivals throughout the whole year. One of them is the popular Poconos Blues Festival held in late July for three days. Another annual fest is the Tribute Festival, held on a Saturday in July. This festival pays tribute to classic rock groups in an amphitheater setting. There are also vendors, food and fireworks to round off the day. Held on Columbus Day weekend in October, the Arts and Crafts Festival highlights fine art, country crafts, and a classic car show. It is also a beautiful time of year to enjoy the fall foliage.

There are lots of accommodations to choose from in the area, and many restaurants to try.

Pocono Bazaar

Ahhh the Pocono Bazaar, what a fantastic place to visit if you love flea markets, yard sales or just a great deal. The Pocono Bazaar is located in Marshall’s Creek in Pennsylvania. This facility warmly welcomes over three hundred vendors who all proudly display their wares. Everything from jewelry, to clothing, antiques, painting, toys, you name it and you will find a booth there with your name on it. The greatest part of the bazaar is that it is open on the weekends year round from 9 to 5 and would only close for Christmas of New Year’s. Otherwise the bazaar opens even when there is snow on the ground, simply fantastic. However if you visit them in the nicer months like the spring, summer and fall you will get to see the nearly 600 additional booths that fill the outdoors.

I personally have visited the Pocono Bazaar on many occasions. As a child my uncle would take me to see all amazing items out on display. This place has always held a special place in my heart as I purchased many items that I still cherish to this day. As as adult, I now make the trip to the Pocono Bazaar to find rare and unique furnishings for my home. There are great pieces that with an artsy or creative hand can become beautiful treasures. The options at the bazaar are endless. If you are looking for something new or old, it can and will be found here.

The best part about the Pocono Bazaar is that it you can make either a weekend or a day trip out of it. The grounds offer many delectable food stops to keep you going. There are places to sit down and snack or grocery markets to pick up some of the freshest local produce in the area. Whatever it is that you are looking for, look no further as the market also offers a cure to any shopping addiction you may have including tobacco.

The Pocono Bazaar is not to be missed as it is a place to find your self in. Who knows you just might find that rare item that you have been looking for all of your life. Check it out and be amzed!

Snowboarding Trip at the Poconos – Mt. Shawnee

I recently went on a snowboarding/ski trip to the Poconos.  This is a video where I got a first person camera view of me going down Pennsylvania, a trail on Shawnee mountain. I also do a few jumps I captured on film (nothing too crazy).  Hope you enjoy! I decided to give the AudioSwap a shot, let me know what you think by commenting and rating!

The Pocono Dulcimer Club’s 7th Annual Winter DulcimerFest 2009 by Stephen Seifert

More fun with the HV30. I had an absolute BLAST at the Pocono Dulcimer Club’s 7th Annual Winter DulcimerFest in Stroudsburg, PA. After the festival, you’ll see shots from my day on a frozen lake in the Poconos. After my trip home, I end a perfect weekend by hanging with the family. Music: Sandy Boys, Ken Kolodner and me; The Old Rugged Cross, Norm Williams and me; St. Anne’s Reel, Ken Kolodner and me.
